Of his critique of Jósef Brzowski's 4 Mazurkas, op. 8 (Leipzig: F. Kistner), saying that the composer's Sarmatian name, an unknown quantity, is a giant problem for the German tongue, that, inasmuch as the composer has chosen to treat his countrymen to patriotic courses, Seyfried would not disturb such domestic happiness, but adding that Brzowski should guard against inviting foreign guests to such a family dinner: all too easily the so-called gourmands, accustomed to select and refined cooking, could turn up their noses at the paltry, tasteless fare, preferring to abandon the meal still hungry rather than pay due tribute to nature with meagre potatoes in their skins, etc.
